Armored Flight Guitarist enters America’s Got Talent

Brandon Andersohn of Armored Flight confirmed today that he has officially entered the try-outs and auditions for America’s Got Talent 2010.  His family is 100% behind him and thinks the 13 year old guitar virtuoso has an outstanding chance to become a finalist if not the winner of this years competition.

The band is heading in to the recording studio next week to put together a “High Fidelity” demo for promoters and for the staff of AGT.  Look for more announcements and updates as they unfold in the Armored Flight Journey.

The band was invited to join a “Friends ReUnion” private party located in Hollister, CA. This was a ton of fun.  Many of the friends and family at the party remembered the Dad (Brad Andersohn) in Armored Flight playing in the Band BF Deal when he was only 12 years old.  Now his son (Brandon Andersohn) was sporting the lead and rhythm guitar to the crowds pleasure.

It was a great party and some of the best company and friends ever! Some even traveled from as far as Milwaukee to be there.

Original members from BF Deal reunite for a couple of classic Original Oldies, including “The Answering Machine Blues“  Johnny Kinimaka and Brad Andersohn reminisce the old days rockin out like they were teens once again.

Then “Armored Flight” took the stage:

This looks like it will be an annual event and Armored Flight looks forward to being a part of the BF Deal Reunions for years and generations to come.

You guys were great and the music was awsome! keep up the family rock unit! You know as I that it only gets better and better!  When you start with talent to begin with, it makes the road much easier to take. You guys did a great job!  I’m sure you’re just as proud of them as we were watching them. Soooooo looking foward to the next time we all can get together for whatever reason! Tonight, Armored Flight will be in Vacaville, CA unveiling portions of their show to the Skynnyn Lynnyrd crew in hopes for the chance to open at some of their shows in the near future.  The Skynnyn Lynnyrd Band is one of the “Best” tribute bands ever to play and perform the classic and vintage Lynyrd Skynyrd tunes, they’re also some really good friends.

The Making and Breaking of Some New Records

This afternoon, Armored Flight singer Debra Andersohn was caught “Live” in the recording booth at Solano Community College in Solano County, CA. tracking some really hot vocals for the bands up and coming CD.  Lead guitarist (and son) Brandon Andersohn was there for moral support and to review his recorded guitar licks and bites.  The production is coming along nicely.  Here’s what was caught on video and posted to qik.com earlier today.

Armored Flight – Records “Live” In The Studio

The band finally made it into the recording studio at Solano Community College last Tuesday. Walt and Scott have graciously donated their time and experience to help sponsor Armored Flight in getting a demo CD put together.  There were quite a few students from the campus that popped in and out to see what the ruckus was all about.

Some came to watch and learn from Walt and Scott, but to the surprise of most, were the sounds coming out of the little guys guitar and amp.  “He’s A Monster” was one of the comments hurled at Brandon.  He simply smiled, said thanks, and continued recording.

The vocals get recorded next Tuesday, then it’s mix and master time. We are very anxious to see how this will all turn out.

Armored Flight – Applies For Fairfield City Grant

This week, the San Francisco Bay Area based band “Armored Flight” is filing an application with the City of Fairfield.  The Department of Community Services Cultural Arts Awards Program will be reviewing the “Local Fairfield” groups application for a possible SEED Grant.

The SEED Grant guidelines were adopted on February 20, 2007 by City Council Resolution 2007-40.  The Cultural Arts Awards Program (CAAP) was established by the City of Fairfield in 1985 to provide grants for new and ongoing arts organizations that respond to the cultural needs and interests of the Citizens of Fairfield.

Armored Flight has a “flight” plan with this possible grant. They want to perform a concert at the local Fairfield Center for Creative Arts to raise the awareness of two very important issues impacting our society today.  One, Family Values and Support Systems, and two, Teens with Dreams.  The Band has a very important message to share, and they feel the SEED Grant will help, and the Fairfield Center for Creative Arts is the perfect venue to do so.

Maureen Lillemoe has been most instrumental in helping Armored Flight get the necessary forms and information completed properly, and into the hands of the City of Fairfield and the CAAC for their review.  The band hopes to perform their concert at the Fairfield Center for Creative Arts sometime in the Spring of 2009, in hopes to reach many of the local High School and Jr. High School students and parents.   Their performance and message are simple:

It’s All About “Family Values & Teens with Dreams.”

We hope you’ll support and share this vision by a family who is trying to inspire and motivate their own community and others. By simply demonstrating their own commitment to their family values, and at the same time, helping their own two boys in the process who are in fact, “Teens with Dreams,”  Armored Flight feels confident this SEED Grant and Concert will be approved by the City.

As the summer months draw closer, and the kids are set free from their daily school duties and responsibilities, we hope Armored Flight is given the chance to share their positive message, and they have faith that it will be received “Loud and CLEAR!”  (no pun intended of course)  The possibilities here are exponential, and with the positive impact this could have on their ANY community, they’re hoping it will be welcomed, and well received.

Producer Walt Mikolajcik and recording engineer Scott Biber from Solano Community College in Solano County, will begin their CD production of Armored Flight starting March 24th, 2009.  The college has decided to help the band produce their first CD to be released sometime this spring.  (See Map For Details)

Armored Flight hopes to release their four song CD Demo sometime late May, and will be performing live at the Fairfield Center for the Creative Arts once their seed grant is approved.  Maureen Lillemoe is currently reviewing and presenting Armored Flights proposal to their board of directors and panel for approval.  Date and time to be announced…

Welcome to our new site, we are currently under construction, as will always be the case with Armored Flight, the newest Band to hit the Local San Francisco Bay Area.

Armored Flight features Guitar Virtuoso Brandon Andersohn, age 12, and his family, (the rest of the band) in a rare and once in a lifetime spectacular you just have to see to believe.   His original music and compilations are nothing short of amazing.
